Course Summary

This course builds learners’ understanding of key chemical principles and their applications. The course covers four major areas:

Oxidation and Reduction: Introduction to redox reactions, oxidation states, and everyday applications.

Industrial Processes: Study of selected industrial chemical processes, their importance, and environmental implications.

Energy Changes in Chemical Reactions: Understanding exothermic and endothermic reactions, enthalpy changes, and energy profiles.

Reactivity series: Exploration of reactions of metals, including reactions with acids, air, water, and displacement reaction.

Learners develop practical skills, scientific reasoning, and safe laboratory habits. By the end of the course, students should be able to explain basic chemical processes, interpret experimental results, and connect chemistry to real-life situations.
