This course enables the learner to understand that,
When a force is applied to stretch or compress a material, it changes it's length.
The amount of stretch depends on how much force is applied
If you double the force, the extension also doubles. Thos happens upto the elastic limit, beyond this the material becomes plastic and doesn't return to it's original length.
