This course introduces learners to the wonders of the universe by exploring the solar system, the sun, the moon, and other celestial bodies. Learners will discover how the Earth’s motion causes day and night, seasons, solar and lunar eclipses, and the changing shapes (phases) of the moon.
They will also examine the life cycle of stars, the structure of galaxies, and the role of artificial satellites in modern life — including their applications in communication, navigation, climate monitoring, and scientific research.
Through interactive lessons, real-life examples such as Uganda’s first satellite and Africa’s growing space missions, and creative activities like building models and researching recent space discoveries, learners will appreciate how physics helps us understand the universe and improve life on Earth.
The course emphasizes curiosity, innovation, and problem-solving, while connecting scientific knowledge to environmental awareness, socio-economic development, and patriotism.
